Losing Backup Settings

Iam using Backup Exec 9.0 with addins for Notes, Netware. I have three backup jobs, one tape drive. First job is overwrite and the next two are appends, on each new job it takes the settings from job 1 and overwrites the tape???. Before I use three tape drive, one for each job and it worked fine, but size limitations required a change

Do all three jobs use the same media set?

if not, you cannot append them, and BackupExec will ask for a new tape at each job step.

Well it is not quite clear what you really mean to say.
Will you elaborate please on the issue a bit?

This is what i guess from your post:

Your Backup Job has so many files that the tape capacity is exeeded by it

Or you are not able to append to your tapes.
This will only be true if a tape from the scratch media or a new tape is being overwritten.
