Lost network connection after succesful backup job

I am investigating a very strange phenomenon, where one of our servers loses network connection every day for a few minutes at around the same time.
On this particular server a local backup job on tape runs every day.
It seems the lost network connectivity always happens in the minutes after the backup job finishes, so I now suspect the backup.
There backup job in itself registers as succesful, and there are no errors in Backup Exec, nor in Windows event viewer.
We are now experimenting with different starting times, to see if the time of the connectivity loss changes too.

Has anyone heard of this problem before?

Hi,

Are you running database backups?

Does the problem occur regularly after the job finishes?

Run the job to a Backup to Disk Folder and verify the results.
