This posting was very helpful and I used it when experiencing the same issues as the thread stated. However, it would be useful to note, between steps 7 & 8, that in order for the most current version of the veritas device drivers to install correctly, the most current service pack must be installed.
I spent quite a while trying to figure out why the BackupExecTapeDeviceDriverInstall_273853.exe update would not execute properly and fail with no detailed explaination.
