Media related question

Hi,

this is my issue:

--i have a media in "Scratch Media" media set and i erase it today, 11.04.2008 at 09:14am

--i move media erased to "Monthly Full" media set and ...bang!...i notice that it has got an "Overwrite Protection Until:11.04.2009". so, until next year, same day!!!!

why is hapenning this? how can i get rid of this situation? because having this behaviour, i will never be able to use this media before next year....

any idea or help will be appreciated.

The way that BackupExec is written, when you move a tape volume (or a BKF file for that matter) into a media set, jt takes on all properties of that media set as of the time it is moved.  If the media set has an OPP of 7 days, you cannot write to that tape until the 8th day

After erasing the tape, just leave it in the Scratch media set, and let Backup Exec move it when the job runs
