Microsoft Virtual Server Agent w/GRT Backup Fails

Currently running BE 12.5 Rev 2213 SP2 on a Windows Server 2003 SP2 machine. I continue to get this error: V-79-57344-38722 - Could not find components to mount a VHD file. Please ensure that the Microsoft Virtual Server VHDMount component is installed. I have followed the instructions here: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/311224.htm and here: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/313472.htm and continue to get this error. I have double checked and the agent for Hyper-V is licensed and installed. Is there something else I am missing? Also notable, BE is installed on the D drive as well as the Virtual Server VDHMount utility. So not sure if BE is looking at C for that but it is installed on the D drive.

After serveral nights without sleep I did find the problem.  Typically when I install any 3rd party apps to a server I install them on a partition other than the C:.  In this case BE looks for the VHD Mount service/application to be installed on the C: partition.  So after uninstalling the VHD Mount and reinstalling it in the C: partition, it worked like a charm.  Here is some supporting documentation from Symantec: http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/328220.htm

please try  removing  the MSVS license and restart the BE serviec and put the license back and also install the remote agent on virtual servers again

I have tried that in the past but I don't believe I had the VHDMount component installed.  I have done as you mention again with the VHDMount installed and will see what happens again tonight when I perform the backup.  Thank you.

So I tried as you mentioned again and the backup still failed with the same notification.  Any other thoughts?
