Moving data from one tape to another?

Hi,

Is there a way to take data from one tape and put it on a different tape, and also move the catalog information over as well?

I can restore the data on the first tape to a different location, and then just back it up with the new tape, but then if I restore from the new tape I have to redirect the restore to the original directory it was backed up from.

Any ideas?

You could always duplicate the tape to a backup-to-disk file, then back to another tape... This would duplicate all data and the catalogs, then you would only have to use the duplicate tape to do a restore, etc.
