Multiple jobs, multiple tape drives, one server

Hi,

I would like to connect a second tape device to our current BE server. I would then divide the current backup selections between the two devices and have them run simultaneously, the first drive backing-up servers 1 thru 3, the second backing up servers 4 thru 6. Will BE v. 10 support this? Or do I need to setup BE on a second server?

Thanks.

As long as these are standalone drives - absolutely no problem.

If you want to add a second drive to a Library, you will need 1 LEO (Library Expansion Option) for the second drive.

Then just run the Device Wizard and change your jobs to point to the desired drive.

Hi,

-is this second tape device a standalone tape drive? or a second drive in a Library ?

Thanks, all. I will check it out. The second drive will be a stand alone device, not an add-on to the first tape drive.
