New Tapes Showing as Cleaning Tapes

Running Ver 10.0 with a tape library. When I import new blank tapes with bar codes, they sometimes show up as cleaning tapes. Some show as blank media, but most show as cleaning tapes. Any ideas? This is very frustrating.
