Norton Ghost 14 - Upgrade PC from WIN XP-32 BIT to WIN7-64 BIT

I use Norton Ghost to backup my Dell XPS 600 with Windows XP SP3 - 32 bit.  I am now upgrading to a Dell XPS 7100 with Windows 7 Home 64 bit.

My question is, can I just restore from my backup to the new PC as is with Norton just placing down the data files to the proper directory and ignoring the obsolete program files?

I have done full image backups with incrementals during the month.  I never did just file, only, backups.  Should I do a file, only, backup and then restore?

Will Norton Ghost 14 work on a 64 bit system?
