Oracle goes in Recover mode

Hi,

Im backing up an oracle database using the backup exec with the Windows/Oracle agent.  The backup is connecting to the oracle system and the backup runs successfully.  However, during the backup process of the oracle data the backup  locks some database files and will not allow access to these files.  The databases goes to the state RECOVER  mode.   The users running our application will not be able to access the data.   The problem is solved by resetting the oracle services.  We get the following error message in the alert_orcl.log file:

Thu Dec 06 05:07:34 2007
Errors in file d:\oracle\product\10.2.0\admin\orcl\bdump\orcl_ckpt_2536.trc:
ORA-01171: datafile 20 going offline due to error advancing checkpoint
ORA-01110: data file 20: 'D:\JDEDWARDS\DATA\ORCL\PRODCTLT01.DBF'
ORA-01115: IO error reading block from file 20 (block # 1)
ORA-27072: File I/O error
OSD-04006: ReadFile() failure, unable to read from file
O/S-Error: (OS 33) The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a portion of the file.

Any suggestions???
