Parallel Streaming to a Backup-to-Disk-Folder

Hi,

we are using Backup Exec 10 with two Backup-To-Disk folders.
How can I configure BE to use this two B2D-Folder parallel?
For example, when I start a Job with multiple Servers configured for using the B2D-Pool(!), Backup Exec is only using the first B2D-Folder. Every server will be backup in series on the B2D-folder 1. The 2nd-Folder is in standby.

Have you created drive pool? Is this a removable backup to disk folder?

Concurrent backups can occur as long as the resources selected for those backups are different. You cannot target the same resource to be backed up at the same time to two different locations.

Since you are using backup-to-disk folder, you can specify the no. of concurrent options that can be performed on it.

Follow these steps
1. Go to "Devices" tab
2. Highlight the desired Backup-to-disk folder and right click
3 Select "Properties" |"Advanced" | "Concurrent Operations"
4. Put the required no. in the "Allow" field. (

Yes, we have a drive pool. It's no removable B2D-Folder.

I checked the steps you quoted. The concurrent job's allowed are "4" (on both B2D-Folder).

Hi Alex

You said you have two B2D folders.

So, on the drive(s) where you want to store the B2D files, you have 2 distinct folders.
And, in BE "Devices", you have created 2 distinct 'Backup-to-Disk Folders', one pointing to each of the 'physical' folders.
(Check this carefully; BE records a 'default' and you may have ended up with 2 B2D Folders in BE, but both pointing to the same 'physical' folder on disk.)

Now, you have 2 distinct backup jobs.
In job setup, under "Device and Media | Device:" you have these two jobs pointing to the two distinct B2D Folders.

All should work fine.
