Password Proteching a tape

Hello

We are running backup exec 12.5 I have been asked a question  is they any way of password protecting the daya on a tape?. Is there any way of encrypting data on tape as well?

Silly question will the log file tell me if the data is encrypted, I need to show and log  this is working
