Performance problem on backups using BE2010r3 and windows server 2003

After we had replaced our network equipment (switches) from 1GB to 10GB we started to notice that our windows 2003 servers did slow down in backup speed.

Our 2008 servers are not affected.

We have tried to copy files between servers and that was Ok, but when we run a backup with BE the speed are not good.

It doesent matter if we backujp to Disk or to Tape..

Is there anyone who knows if the BE agent can be the problem?

We are runing Backup Exec 2003 on a windows 2008R2 server

Hi there,

Could be a mismatch on your switch ports and server NICs. Check and make sure that both are hard-coded for the fastest speed that the 2003 server's NICs can run at.

Service Pack 1 is out for BE 2010 R3 and if you haven't loaded it up, do so and run LiveUpdate. There is a DDI package that is also available. Once done, do a push-install from your media server to any remote servers you might have.
