I have a standard MS cluster which hosts 8 virtual instances (VI). If, in BE11, I select the host nodes, then the partitions on which the VIs reside, I get a throughput of 2,300MB/m which is great. The downside of this is if a VI has failed over, then obviously the backup fails as the failed-over partition is now hosted by a different node in the cluster.
I can back up the data through the virtual instances, giving me fault tolerance should a resource fail over, but performance drops to 900mb/min.
Can anyone tell me why?
Cheers
Nick
