Possible to migrate BE 2010 from Server 2003 to Server 2008?

Hello,

We are currently running BE 2010 R2 on a 32-bit Server 2003 machine.  We have provisioned a 32-bit Server 2008 Standard machine as the new BE server and we're wondering if it's possible to migrate the settings.  There are around 65 configured backup jobs which we would like to not have to manually re-create.  The information located at http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH67768 says to NOT follow these instructions if migrating from one version of Windows OS to another, but would it still be possible?

Summary:

Would like to migrate same version of BE (2010 R2) from a 2003 server to 2008 server, both 32-bit.

Thanks!

Dan

I know that the TechNote say not to use it for moving from one version to another, but several on the boards have said that they have used it in that situation.

As long as you do not decom the old server before testing the new server, go ahead and try it

If it fries the new system, remove/reformat, and try AZC's solution

This seems to have worked.
