Problem Backup Rman Oracle

Dear,
I am trying to back up my databases with the Symantec Backup Exec program.
At first, I had a drawback with my 10g bases, since the rman output gave me the following error:
RMAN-00601: fatal error in recovery manager
RMAN-03004: fatal error during execution of command
RMAN-10038: database session for channel ch0 terminated unexpectedly

BUT I could solve it by configuring the db_recovery_file_dest and db_recovery_file_dest_size parameters in the database.

The problem is that I also have 9i bases that generate the same errors in rman, but version 9i does not support the parameters db_recovery_file_dest and db_recovery_file_dest_size. Is there any alternative to these parameters in the 9i version? Or can someone tell me why I generate those rman errors?

Thank you so much!

Sorry for the very late response. What is the BE version are you using? The latest Backup Exec does not support 9i and even Oracle stopped the support of this version.

Can you run DBA initiated backup? If this also fails with same error, then run a DBA initiated disk based backup ( i.e. Oracle RMAN backup not using Backup exec)

If disk based backup is also failing can you attach the rman output or log?
