Hi,
What is the resource that you are backing up? Are you also backing up Exchange?
Do you get any errors or Event log?
Are there any active alerts in BE?
Exactly when bengine.exe utilizes 80% CPU cycles - while backing up a particular file/folder or when backup is started?
If using AOFO for backup, try a backup without using OFO option.
To isolate the issue also try splitting the job!
For test purpose disable anti virus if running during backp.
