Problem with Jukebox

Peter_Gaertner

Hello,

our windows-client (BackupExec 10.0SP1, Windows NT4) has a Jukebox with 2 Removable Disk Device. When I start the backup, this BackupExecClient tries to access this drives and i get a Errormessage on this Server, because there is no access in Windows to this drives. The Jukeboxdrives has 2 Driveletters, but only a DMS-System has access.

Has anyone a idea?
The driveletters of the jukebox a NOT included in the backupkonfiguration.

Thanks,

Peter

As long as Windows can see the drive as a standard drive letter and can access the file system only then you can backup to an external harddisk using Backupexec Removable-B2D feature.

VERITAS Backup Exec 9.x and 10.0 for Windows Servers adds a new feature called "Removable Backup to Disk Folder." This folder supports directing backup jobs to the following removable media:
1) CD-R
2) CD-RW
3) Digital video disc - recordable (DVD-R)
4) Digital video disc - rewritable (DVD-RW)
5) ZIP Drive.
6) JAZZ
7. Removable Hard Disk ( REV drives fall under this category).

As long as you can the see the drive as a Drive letter in the wodnows explorer there should not any problem.

Here is the Technote for it
How to create a new removable backup-to-disk folder in VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.x for Windows Servers
