Hello,

we have a problem with backup-to-disk.
We have 4 server which backup to a disk on a storage server.
3 of these servers backup fine. 1 server generates the following error message:
Error: 0x40 - The specific networkname is no longer available.
On this server the backup starts and save 1-5 GB data to the specific folder on the storage server and stop without a recognizable error with the error message specified above
The backup-to-disk folder is defined as unc path (\\server09\backups\server04).
The 4 servers save the data at 11:00 pm.

Can anybody help please.

Tanks for your effort.

Andreas

Hi,

According to your problem statement

Backup failed with Final error: "0x40" - The specified network name is no longer available.

Suggestion:

1. Increase the size of Backup to Disk folder to the limit of available free space on the hard disk and run the job and check if the error occurs.
To increase the size go to Devices Tab -->Right click Backup to Disk folder --> Properties -->Click on Advanced tab --> By default it is 1 GB, please increase the size.

2. If the above solution does not resolve then Create a new Backup to Disk folder on the Storage server and re-run the backup job and check the result.

3. Also, you can create a Backup to Disk folder on another server and target the backup job to it and check the results.

Thanx
