Could Anyone help? One of our clients is using an HP dat 72 drive, but unfortuatly we cannot get it to compress. We have ran tapetools and confirmed the drive is compressing, but cannot get backup exec 10d to compress. Infact after the job we notice hardware compression is turned off and a reboot of the server is the only thing that i have found will reenable compression. We have had the drive replaced numerous times. At first it was a usb model but believing that this was the cause at first, have returned to scsi. We have done the usual removal of non compressable files from the backup job but still no compression. We are using veritas drivers, it has the latest service packs. The only thing left that i will try today is to monitor the backup using sgmon, but i am stuck, any help?
