Problems restoring Exchange Mail storage with BackupExce 10.0 Rev. 5484

When I try to restore the backup for tonight I got this error:

Job ended: 21. juni 2005 at 10:15:27
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xffff84f0 - 0xa00084f0 (2684388592)
Final error category: Other Errors

For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-65535-34032

And when trying to restore a backup job there is about 2 month old, I got this error message:

The job failed with the following error: The block size being used is incorrect.

Can anyone give me some hints to how to fix this problem???

I had restores tapes earlier without problems, but now I can’t restore it any more… I haven’t made any changes in the configuration since I installed the server, only updated BackupExce to SP 1.

Here is my system configuration:

Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition (without SP 1)
BackupExce 10.0 Rev. 5484
Exchange 2003 SP 1
Tape drive is an IBM ValueSmart VS160 Drive
SCSI controller is an IBM ServerRAID 7k Controller

NB: When making a backup-to-disk and restore-from-disk it works fine!

Regards, Thomas

Hello,

Pleasse note that it is not recommended to attach the drive to a RAID controller.

Please refer the following technotes for more information.

Hi,

Tomorrow I’ll get a new SCSI controller (not RAID) and will see what happened. I’ll let you know what happened and if it works…

It seems to work with a non-raid controller. Thanks for your answers 
