Query on Windows 2012 agent

Now with the Beta release of Backup Exec 2012 SP2, can i now install the agent onto a server 2012 hyperv host and backup VM level backups?

You can install the agent onto a Windows Server 2012 server. Not sure if you want to do this in a production environment just yet...

Install on Windows 2012 with Hyper-V is supported by the SP2 beta.

With regards Hyper-V backups there are some limitaions regarding vhdx fieels and ReFS volumes etc - I believe there are notes in the readme and release information provided with the beta.

Also please note registered beta customers do have a forum as part of the Symbeta website and whilst we are not saying do not post beta questions in the Connect forums, for tracking purposes against the beta testing we would appreciate if you post in the SymBeta forums.

Finally as this particular beta is in update to the existing build instead of a new complete build and because the original 2012 beta missed some configurations as the 2012 beta testers used limited scale labs which did not contain examples of certain types of production environments, we are encouraging customers to apply this 2P2 beta in production if they can. Obviously we do acknowledge that some customers will prefer not to do this.
