Querying Writer Status Errors recieved after nightly backups

I have been using BackupExec 11d for Windows (using the AOFO agent) to perform successful backups of my fileserver every night for the past several months.  However, over the past two weeks I have begun to recieve the following errors after each backup:

"The job failed with the following error: A failure occurred querying the Writer status."

Ironically, even though the backup message says failed, I have verified that the data is in deed being backed up and is recoverable.  I have no idea why I'm getting these errors though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated with the issue.

Hi,

This error is happening when it tries to backup the Shadow Copy Components. 

Go to the command prompt of this server and type VSSADMIN LIST WRITERS, this will give you a list of all the writers that are running and it will show the status of them.  Look for the status and the last error.

If the status on any of them is not stable then a reboot might take care of it.  If after that the issue still occurring, you might want to verify that the server has all the VSS patches applied.
