Question from a Newbie

Please excuse me for asking this newbie question. I tried finding the answer on the forums but cant find any info. I am Running Backup Exec 10 on Windows Server 2003 Standard. The question I have is in regards to erasing multiple tapes through one job and suggestions on my setup. I have my backups setup on a IBM tape Library 3582. I created 14 different partitions for my daily file backups and for my daily exchange backups. I assigned each media set to a specific slot so I can basically assign a specific tape to write to the same slot for that day. My main problem is when I switch the tapes for my rotation, the only way i found to erase them is to do one partition at a time and eventually ends up being 14 different manual erase jobs. Is there a way to choose all the new media i put in and select them all at the same time? I want to select all 14 and erase at the same time so i dont have to manually go through each one. I hope I explained it enough. Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me.
Thanks,
Russell

Hello,

In case of Backup Exec it is not possible to select all 14 media's and erase at the same time. You will hav eto do it manually.

However, you can refer the following technotes as an additional information:

How to create and manage autoloader (robotic library) partitions using VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) for Windows Servers

TechNote ID: 206843

After creating partition , you need to create media sets and assign Overwrite Protection Period(OPP) and Append Period (AP)properly to it with the help of following technote :
