Qusetion: Server OS upgrade and BE capability

Hi,

We are now using BE 10.1.5629 on Windows Server 2003 for enterprise backup.

Recently we decided to upgrade server OS version to Windows Server 2003 SP2.

What I would like to know is does BE 10d work well on Server 2003 SP2? Need any upgrade on BE version?

Your inputs will be appreciated.

Thanks in advanced.

Since backup Exec 10 support has ended in may 09, I would recommend doing a upgrade at least to 11d, if you do not want to upgrade further to 12.5

Nevertheless, it works with Server 2003 (see SCL):

hi

Upgrade to BEWS11D or later for better performance.

I found BE 11D might have been a bit quicker, but 12.5 has been far more stable. Servers I used to have continuous issues backing up, now just back up! If you can go for the latest support, I'd go with what DominikG suggested. I highly doubt you'll be able to buy 11D, and I don't know if it allows you to downgrade or now...?
