Hello,
Our client's environment is 1 windows server and 1 linux server. My understanding is that I do not need the remote agent for windows, since the database and media server is all on the same box. Is that correct?
I am getting a notice that the trial version of the RAWS agent expires in a few days. I tried stopping the RAWS service, but that stops the BE Job Engine, and if I start the BE job engine again, RAWS starts up again.
Environment is Win Server 2k8, running BE 2010R3.
Any suggestions / clarifications?
Thanks,
Andreas

I presume that your single Windows server is the media server as well as the application server. In this case, you do not need a RAWS licence to back it up. You can ignore the RAWS licence expiring message. You could have triggered the trial of the RAWS by backing up from a source external to the media server, e.g. a share on the Linux server.
You should not stop the remote agent service on the media server. This is required for backup and restore operations.
