Ready, No Idle Devices Available

I have a Backup Exec for Windows 10.0 environment and just replaced a DLT drive with an HP 16-Slot Autoloader. Backup Exec sees the drive and all of the slots. It recognizes all of the tapes along with their associated barcode. If I submit a job, even an inventory of the autoloader, I get the message " Ready, No Idle Devices Available" in Job Status. I tried the registry entry that the knowledgebase recommended (LoadBalancerBehavior) with no avail. Any suggestions?

Hello,

Are you also getting any alerts in the backup exec alerts tab. Also look for errors in the Windows event logs.

Also upgrade to the latest revision for 10.0 which is 5520 from the following link:

VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 10.0 rev. 5520 for Windows Servers Installation Files
http://support.veritas.com/docs/277181

Following this, install the latest device drivers from the link below:
VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 10.0.5520 - Device Driver Installer (20050815) - Includes Tape Driver Release (20050115) and Robotic Library Release (47) (Intel Only
http://support.veritas.com/docs/278408

Also stop the removable storage service and test the results.

Hope this helps. If the issue persists, revert with details.

The version was already at 5520, but updating the device drivers fixed the problem. Thanks for the help!
