If you are truing to install the Remote agent for Windows Systems (not the DLO agent), disable the ForceGuest option in your XP.

Open a registry editor. and make sure that key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\LSA\Forceguest is set to 0 instead of 1.

If what you are trying to install is the DLO agent, the step above is not necessary and the problem may be different.

Hi,

Please refer to:

Push installations of Backup Exec and/or the Remote Agent for Windows Servers (RAWS) to Windows XP Service Pack 2 systems or Windows 2003 servers fail with a "connect to server" error.

You will need to make sure the Logon Account (check what is being used in the selection list "Properites | Resource Credentials") has access to the XP client.

Cheers

- was a long long day yesterday - sorry for the incorrect information. you need to install the agent on an XP client, but you do not need an additional license.Message was edited by:

Is Windows XP "simple file sharing" turned off?
- in Windows Explorer, "Tools | Folder Options | View" - last item in the list.
