Remote Agent Firewall Issue?

kconway
Level 2

When I try to push a remote agent install from Backup Exec 2010 R2 to remote agents,

I receive the following error:

Error connecting to remote computer.  Ensure that the computer is available, has WMI enabled, and is not blocked by firewall 24.

1. I can confirm that the computer is availalbe

2.  WMI is enabled and port is not blocked by Firewall Rule

Does anyone know ALL the ports required to be enabled for the Agent to be enabled to receive updates?   I can only think of

Anything specific to the Remote Backup Exec Agents?  the account i use to test this is in the Domain Admin group so I don't believe it to be an account permisson error.  My agents "must" be communicating with the Domain Controllers their on because backups have been running.  I just don't know Why I keep receiving this error message while trying to update the agent versions remotely.

Hi Kevin,

Check the TN below:

For the firewall, port 10000 would need to be opened on any firewall to allow comms through between the RAWS agent and the media server.

Also make sure the WMI service is started up on that server.

Thanks!

Make sure that the remote registry service is running on the remote machine.
