Remote Agent becomes unresponsive

Backing up a Windows2k3 Enterprise File Server

Usually about once a week the server has to be restarted. The backup jobs says its running but with no progress. I reboot and it's fine.. The agent is 10d but this is really becoming a problem. I have reinstalled the agent.

Since when does this problem occurs ?

Are there any errors recorded in the Event Viewer when the Remote Agent becomes unresponsive ?

Does this happens with all the backups or any specific backup ?

Are there any alerts in Alerts tab ?

The problem started 2 weeks ago.

NO errors in the event logs.

This happens on one specefic back-up (Our main fileserver)

No alerts. The media runs but the job progess stays on 0 and no data is backed up.


I have re-installed the agent and that works but I seem to have to do it 2 times a week.

One more thing...


I checked and have quite a few VSS errors in the event logs. That deals more with the SQL agent. Probably not important but wanted to add anyway.Message was edited by:

If you are using BE v10.1rev 5629 then install the SP1.
