Remote Agent for MS MYSQL

I am planning to upgrade my current version V8.6 to V10.0. My question is related to 1 remote system running a MS RMS POS software, which is based on MYSQL, a sub-set of SQL server.

I saw that i can install the Remote Agent on that system, plus the Open File Option. But how do I backup that SQL database? Can I also install the SQL Server agent on that remote system and would it work just like a local SQL Server I backup?

MYSQL is not supported by BAckp exec , so a SQL agent will not help you much. You can just install the Open file option and take a full backup of the MYSQL database files , but test out a few restores before you impliment it in production.

Hi,

As mentioned SQL agnet will help u backup only MS SQL. You can either use AOFO or take a database dump.

Hello Gerhard,
MySQL is not supported by BEWS currently.
