Remote Agent not detected

I keep getting this error:

The media server was unable to connect to the Remote Agent on machine X.
The media server will use the local agent to try to complete the operation.
Remote Agent not detected on \\X

There is a Remote Agent on this server.  It is running.  This server is where Backup Exec is installed; why is a remote agent necessary?  It appears that everything that should be backed up on this server is backing up OK.  Can anyone answer this?

When do you get this error message? During a backup or when you are trying to make selections?

The remote agent is necessary because it will communicate with other remote agents and it also is the part of Backup Exec that will communicate with the local machine to run local backups.

During a backup.  When completed, the error show up.

Does this happen for all the selections for the server or just one or two?  Also is your install an upgrade from a previous version?
