Make sure that RA service is running on local system account!
What is the exact error in job log?
Is the remote server behind firewall? Have you installed SP1 on Windows 2003?
Verify whether port 10000 is in use, perform the following:
1. Open a command prompt on remote machine.
2. Type Netstat -a > c:\netstat.txt
3. Open netstat.txt file and check for port 10000.
Also note that Backup exec service account should have local admin and domain admin rights.
