Remote Media Agent?

We are currently looking to deploy a new external LTO tape drive attached to a server in a remote office.  We are using Backup Exec 11d running on Windows 2003 Server.  We are wondering if there are any other options rather than purchasing an additional server license for Backup Exec so we can run the job from the local server to the tape drive in the remote office?  Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Good morning Anne,

In order to delegate a backup job to another server in the manner you've described, you'll not only need to have Backup Exec licensed and installed on the second server, you'll also need CASO licensed and installed on the primary backup server. You can then configure the second server as MMS (Managed Media Server), and can then delegate and monitor jobs from the primary CAS server.
