We've just updated our remote agents and one of our servers (2003) decided to play up, what does the remote agent install and does it impact local MS SQL Server or folders in any way. I'm sure it doesn't but I'd like clarification?
Thanks

Like SuperBrain said, Remote Agent does not make any changes or impacts the SQL server or folders in any way. It would also be better if you post any errors/warnings that you might have got in event viewer regarding this.

You're right, it (remote agent installation) doesnt impact local SQL server / folders in any way.
It only installs the Remote Agent software, which adds a new service to that machine.

Thanks, it was more a hyperthetical question because it seemed coincidental that some services didn't start related to MSSQL, it's all sorted now.
Thanks
