Restore Active Directory from Backup Exec 9.1

Hi,

I'm trying to do a restore of Windows 2003 Server Active Directory using Backup Exec 9.1. I've followed all the instructions as per Veritas documentation (http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/236240.htm) but when I do the restore, it fail at the end with the error stating that some of the files could not be replaced.

I've done the following:

Installed a basic server with same file system, Windows 2003 without AD etc. Then installed Backup Exec and catalogued the tape. When booted up normally, I stated a restore and selected the System State folder and launched the restore. It runs, but like mentioned above, it fails stating that some of the files could not be replaced. After that the server fails to boot with an error message stating that Active Directory could not be started.

Please help!

Hello,

Please specify the exact error message.

Also launch the sgmon before executing the restore job.

1. You should be booting in Directory Restore mode
2. Try restoring C:\Windows as well as your sytem state.
