Hi

I have a backup of 90000 dpx files, if I select a few hundred of the files individually by right clicking and select I get an egg timer for hours, if I select a couple of files or the whole folder everything is fine.  What am I doing wrong?

If anyone has any advice on this it would be great, This is a big problem for me at the moment, if it is an inherent issue in the software, then I shall have to look at arcserve or similar......

Many Thanks

I see a few other people are having similar problems like this, is there no solution? The software is unusable

Hi,

So you've installed SP2 for BE 12.5 then?

Service Pack 2 download:

http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/323735.htm

1 of the things it addresses:

Advanced Disk Based Backup Option
- The restore job will hang if a file/folder is selected from a baseline backup job.

HOWEVER, this looks like it could explain things a bit:

Is there any symantec support I can go to to solve this? I can't believe this problem is unique to me ?

I am using deep linux paths, could that be an issue? its about 8-10 paths deep

Thanks

Check that site out, and select the option you're looking for. Sorry this couldn't get solved. I also have no idea on the path limitations of Linux unfortunately!

Hi Craig, thanks for the reply.....

Hmmm....No email support for this product available, they really dont want to sell me this product do they.

Does anyone know, can I get similar backup speeds from retrospect? like 5000 MB/Min?

Thanks
