What are you restoring in this job? Is the backup on the Exabyte? If so, was the backup job successful?
Follow the steps given in the technotes below:

A tape device is reported "Offline" in VERITAS Backup Exec (tm).

Then check if the device is offline. Inventory and Catalog the device and then run the restore.
If the problem persists, check the errors in the event logs and update at the forum.
