Restoring from Tape catalog errors

We are trying to restore some files from a year-end tape. There are two tapes total for the year-end. Using Backup Exec 9.1 Rev4691 on Windows 2003 server, and has never seen these tapes before.

When we insert the tapes and do an inventory, it seems to do fine. Cataloging though, it will start for a minute or two, then eject like it's expecting the second tape. That will run for about 30 minutes and then eject again, assuming it's wanting the first tape again. After running about 30 more minutes, it then gives an error that the cataloging was unable to complete because one of the media was not inventoried. We reversed the process and the same error comes up. When we try to force a restore, it will restore the folder structure but not the files.

Inventoring one tape after another and then running the catalogue does not seem to help.
Thanks

Hi,

1. Which version of Backup Exec have you used for Backing up?
2. For restoring data are you using the same drive that you used for backup?
