Restoring full Sharepoint 2007 Enterprise Farm with BE 2010

We are trying to do a full farm restore of a SharePoint 2007 Enterprise system (Database is approx 67Gb) . It has been running now for 14+ hours, and is at 53% for the last 10+ hours. It has locked up our database server completely, so we can't even log in from the console, bringing down all our database apps.

Anyone tried this with BE 2010 - its worked for us when we were using BE 12.5, but this is our first attempt with 2010 - I'm not impresed at this point,

Well after waiting 20 hours, with the DB server totally locked up - and unable to even get console access - we hard rebooted the server. What a suprise to find that SharePoint had been totally restored - don't know when it finished, but am a little bit scared that our onlt way to finish a restore is to reboot system when we think it might have finished.

Symantec - has anyone else seen a problem like this?
