Restoring to Recovery Storage Group

I have never done an Exchange recovery, so I have a question.

Using Win Server 2003 & Veritas 9.1

I created the recovery storage group on my exchange server. I want to retrieve a few deleted emails from a single mailbox.

How do I know that when I run the restore, that it is going to automatically restore the mailbox(es) into the recovery storage group? There is not anywhere in the exchange restore options where I select where the restore location is.

Firstly,

You're restoring an information store right.. not a brick level mailbox?

Anyway, if you open Exchange Manager, right click on various mail stores and go to "Properties", you can see the option "This store can be overwritten by a restore".

If you ensure only your recovery group has this option ticked, Veritas will place its restore here, as it is the only place it can.Message was edited by:

Thanks Joshua. That is such a simple way to explain it. It's ridiculous that every organization that describes the RSG procedures never mentions that part of it.
