The backupserver name will always be taken from the external ini file (biparam.ini)

Parameter: Server=

if you leave it empty, the agent assumes that the SAP server is also the backup server.
You have got to type in the servername of your backup exec server. (like Server=backupservername)

If you already did so, then the agent does not look into this biparam.ini but any other file. (you may have some ini files e.g. for full_online, or full_offline etc.)

Double check that you are configuring the correct biparam.ini as external param file within sapdb.

Hi André,

Is your SAP server a remote server? If yes then you need to install the Remote Agent also, along with the SAP R/3 Agent on this server.

Check the path of your biparam.ini file, this file should be under X:\usr\sap\\sys\exe\run\ (where X: is the drive where you have installed SAP)

The corresponding path should be mentioned in your initSID.sap file for the parameter util_par_file. (decomment this parameter, if it is commented out and add the correct path for the biparam.ini file as below):

util_par_file = X:\usr\sap\\sys\run\exe\biparam.ini

NOTE: where X: is the drive where you have installed SAP

Also as "UZ" has mentioned, check the name of the server in the biparam.ini, check whether this is the correct servername. If it is not then correct it.

You can also add the IP address of the Media server in place of the Media server name in the biparam.ini file.

Another thing to try out is to add the IP address and the name of the Media server in the Hosts file of the SAP server and the IP address and the name of the SAP server in the Hosts file of the Media server.
