SLOW Backups

It's taking 30 hours to do a 189gb backup. I defragged the hard drive and it's gone from about 120mbs to 156mbs, but still very slow. what else can i do to relieve this issue. Exchange does it's backup at 4 to 730am and I start the backup at 7pm for veritas.

Network or local backups?

Exchange only or Flat file also?

Exchange Stores/GRT only or Legacy Mailbox also?

local backups, exchange and flat files, and exchange stores. I've defragged the hard drive and repaired the veritas software and it's running a little better, 147gb in 14 hours. I use to be able to do 189 in 10 hours. I just backing up flat files tonight to see what happens. Last night is was great the first 3 hours and then it dropped to about 176mbm.

Forgive the remark about GRT (Gotta remember to check which forum I'm actually in!   )

No obvious problems, from what you describe.  Any changes about the time that you noticed the slow-down?
