SQL 2005 Database not backed up

I have a SQL 2005 (embedded edition) DB running on a remote server as part of Microsoft's WSUS beta 3. BE 10d (with service pack 1 installed) sees the DB and select it, but when it comes to running the backup I get the following:

Set Information - APOLLO\MICROSOFT##SSEE
Backup Set Information
Family Name: "Media created 12/10/2006 23:00:05"
Backup of "APOLLO\MICROSOFT##SSEE "
Backup set #16 on storage media #1
Backup set description: "Daily"
Backup Type: DATABASE - Back Up Entire Database
Microsoft SQL Server Agent: Started

Backup started on 13/10/2006 at 02:01:44.

Backup Set Detail Information
Database SUSDB was not found, or could not be accessed.
The item APOLLO\MICROSOFT##SSEE\SUSDB in use - skipped.

Backup completed on 13/10/2006 at 02:01:52.

Backup Set Summary
Backed up 3 databases
1 item was skipped.
Processed 14,529,238 bytes in 8 seconds.
Throughput rate: 104 MB/min

I have SA with an appropriate password set up as a login account in BE (as well as the usual access account). Why won't BE back this DB up?

Regards,

William

I think that (from memory) SQL 2005 embedded edition doesn't support remote connections. So it can't be backed up remotely.

Thanks.

I did originally have the SQL EE DB on the same machine as BE but that failed too. Is that because it has to be backup up using the agent? (In which case I'm stuck!)

Hello William,

Please let us know if your backupexec is Installed on a MSDE?
Is the DB local on the server?

Also what rights does your user have?

You have said:Is that because it has to be backup up using the agent? (In which case I'm stuck!)
Do you mean that remote Agent is not installed on the SQL server by this?
Do you have a SQL license?

Thanks
Regards
