CPS over WAN links

Hi,

I have been using CPS for a while on the local lan to backup VM container files from mounted snapshots that are taken whilst the VM is down. This works very nicely and I can transfer around 16 Gb of changes in approx 250Gb of files in around 4-5 hours.

The problem I am having is that I am then trying to replicated these container files between our datacentres over a 4Mb link. If I try a robocopy over that link I can get the usage up to around 95% of the links capacity. If I try replication, whether it be a 50 Gb container file or many other small files the best I get is around 40% which is a lot lower than I am seeing on the LAN.

I have QOS in place now and I should mention that this problem was still the same before QOS. Is there a way to ensure that CPS uses as much of the link as possible? I have tried running 2 jobs between the 2 same servers concurrently but on jobs sits doing nothing until the fisrt to start finishes.

Cheers

Andy
