configured Symantec Backup exec windows server edition ,i have TAPE library with two tape drive one is connected with SBE server and 2nd with another server ,sucessfully take backup in SBE attach tape drive want to know how to take backup in another tape drive..?

Hello,

Backup Exec supports the TAPE connected to the Backup Exec Server ONLY. It will not detect any TAPE connected to a remote server.

Hi B_S,

Simple...create another job that backs up the other server, and disconnect the 2nd tape drive from that server.
Run the jobs to back up your SBE server and the 2nd server at the same time.
Either way you will need another Library Expansion Option (LEO)...BEWS will ship with a free license for 1 drive, but the other will not work until you license the 2nd tape drive.
You will need the RAWS agent installed on the 2nd server, and any application agents installed on your media server for apps running on the 2nd server (ie. SQL, Exchange etc).

You can connect the 2nd TAPE Drive to the SBE Server and will not require LEO License as Backup Exec supports "n" number of Stand Alone Tape Drives connected to the Media Server.

You are right...Its a TAPE Library with 2 Drives, B_S will need a Library Expansion Option (LEO) License as Backup Exec supports only 1 Drive in the Library...
