We have just completed the PAINFUL process of wiping the drives on our server and doing a complete reload. We run Windows Small Business Server 2003 and Backup Exec 10.0. I believe I've got the backup jobs recreated and life is good again. To save some of this pain in the event we ever have to go through this process again, I've been asked to save to disk (burn to CD) the configuration info from Backup Exec. I'm trying to do this, but am having difficulties. I've found Document ID 274778 and have tried to complete the steps.
We have only the one server on our network.
Using BEUtility I Select "New Media Server", enter the name of our only server and Click OK. According to the directions in the Document, I should then see in the Task pane "Copy Media Server Configuration". I don't. The only options I see are Stop... Start... Change... and Edit...
Is it not possible to save the configuration to the same server running Backup Exec? Was this information stored on one of our backup tapes from which I could have retrieved it?
