I INSTALLED about 6 windows updates the other day after turning the auto update service on. After a reboot most of the services seem okay except the server service will not start and therfore nothing will work. I have tried ending via task manager, backing out the updates, doing several repairs and there really hasn't been a change. Also getting a error 3 in event log:

I suspect SQL obviously but don't know why this would change or what to check. I need help getting this resolved asap.
It seems my options may be: (other than fixing)
1. uninstall 11d and reinstall.
2. uninstall 11d and to straight to 12. (anybody have any feeling about 12???)
any recommendations or assistance is greatly appreciated.
