Setting Media descriptions automatically (was removed from BE 11d)

In BE 10.x you could define the following for a backup job to get automatically nice informative media descriptions (copied text from BE 10.x help follows):

Family name

Specify a name for the new or overwritable media. This name is used to identify the media in the Restore Selections dialog boxes.

The family name defaults to "Media created date time". To customize the family name, you can use any combination of the following variables in this field:

%s - includes the media server name

%j - includes the job name

%d - includes the date the media was created

%t - includes the time the media was created

In BE 11d, this user-friendly automatic feature has been removed,

But you can still (manually !) write any text to a media description field by hand. What was the rationale to remove this handy automatic feature ?

It would be so nice to get it back.
