Shadow Copy -Clarification

Hi folks

My boss is convinced that Shadow Copy Service will create a snapshot of an entire server (system state,shares,et al) so we dont need to do "normal" backups.

As far as I know this is not possible and that the only thing we can get via a basic BE 10d install on a Win 2003 server is to backup Shadow Copy Components.

Am I missing something here?

Is there any documentation which clearly states this?

Also is there anyway that BE can create a snapshot of a full server for easy restore , if so what agents or products would be needed to do so?
